A hadith says, "God has ninety-nine names, one hundred
less one. And he who knows them all by heart will enter paradise."
Every quality of Allah has many meanings. He created you in His
image so that when you reach, you see that the same qualities and
meanings are within you. When you clean every quality in your self,
your heart, and your soul, you can touch every quality.
As a practice to purify the qualities of the self, you can recite these Name
of Allah. Through recitation and prayer, you can begin to taste His qualities
inside your quality, if He Wills. For a more indepth study of the Names of Allah,
you can purchase a copy of The
Meanings of the Names of our Lord, by Sidi
Muhammad al-Jamal.
Our guide suggests reciting the names by saying Ya Allah, Ya (quality).
Example: Ya Allah, Ya Rahim. Translated: Oh Allah! Oh Merciful.
